The Katapana Desert, located in Skardu, Gilgit Baltistan, is the highest desert. The Katpana region is known as the "cold desert" because to its tall sand dunes. Tourists visit the Katpana Desert, which is noted for its snow-covered dunes, primarily in the winter to enjoy the chilly nights or for a transitional stay.
The high sand dunes of Katpana has given it the name of the cold desert. As you move from West Pakistan to North the topography is very pleasing with the colors of the lush plantation, giant mountains, rocky plains, flowing, curvy streams, waterfalls, cloudy skies, and picturesque landscapes. The Cold Desert, also known as the Katpana Desert or Biama Nakpo, is a high-altitude desert located near Skardu, Gilgit−Baltistan, Pakistan. The desert contains large sand dunes that are sometimes covered in snow during winter. Situated at an elevation of 2,226 metres above sea level, the Cold Desert is one of the highest deserts in the world.
Katpana Desert is famous for its snow covered dunes, tourist visit mostly during winter season to enjoy cold nights or transition stay. There are hotels, guest house and luxury tents available, families can stay there or take room in hotels that are further away from desert and closer to city. Food is served with the hotels or tents, but for more variety tourists have to go further out from desert to find more restaurants.
کٹاپنا صحرا گلگت بلتستان کے اسکردو میں واقع دنیا کا بلند ترین صحرا ہے۔ کٹپنا کے اونچے ریت کے ٹیلوں نے اسے سرد صحرا کا نام دیا ہے۔ جب آپ مغربی پاکستان سے شمال کی طرف جاتے ہیں تو ٹپوگرافی سرسبز باغات، دیوہیکل پہاڑوں، چٹانی میدانوں، بہتی ہوئی ندیوں، آبشاروں، ابر آلود آسمانوں اور دلکش مناظر کے رنگوں سے بہت خوش ہوتی ہے۔
سرد صحرا، جسے کٹپانا صحرا یا بیاما ناکپو بھی کہا جاتا ہے، ایک بلندی پر واقع صحرا ہے جو اسکردو، گلگت بلتستان، پاکستان کے قریب واقع ہے۔ صحرا میں ریت کے بڑے ٹیلے ہوتے ہیں جو کبھی کبھی سردیوں میں برف سے ڈھکے ہوتے ہیں۔ سطح سمندر سے 2,226 میٹر کی بلندی پر واقع سرد صحرا دنیا کے بلند ترین صحراؤں میں سے ایک ہے۔
کٹپانا صحرا اپنے برف سے ڈھکے ٹیلوں کے لیے مشہور ہے، سیاح زیادہ تر سردیوں کے موسم میں سرد راتوں یا منتقلی کے قیام سے لطف اندوز ہونے کے لیے یہاں آتے ہیں۔ ہوٹل، گیسٹ ہاؤس اور لگژری ٹینٹ دستیاب ہیں، فیملیز وہاں رہ سکتے ہیں یا ایسے ہوٹلوں میں کمرہ لے سکتے ہیں جو صحرا سے دور اور شہر کے قریب ہوں۔فطرت کی کچھ فوٹوگرافی کر سکتے ہیں اور صحرائی ٹیلوں میں لطف اندوز ہو سکتے ہیں۔
ہوٹلوں یا خیموں میں کھانا پیش کیا جاتا ہے، لیکن زیادہ اقسام کے لیے سیاحوں کو مزید ریستوران تلاش کرنے کے لیے صحرا سے باہر جانا پڑتا ہے۔
